Daisy is a 1 1/2-year-old black Labrador Retriever mix who was destined to be euthanized by her former family. Sweet Daisy is lucky to be alive and she knows it. She came into foster care at 10 months old hairless and scared. After a few weeks on a quality food, Daisy no longer resembled the slim, timid creature she was previously. She now has a beautiful sleek and glossy black coat. When Daisy was only a few months old she was hit by a car which left her with two mangled front legs. One was badly fractured and the other suffered extensive soft tissue damage. Her previous owners refused to pay for the necessary surgery and treatment which could have restored Daisy's legs to normal. After visiting a local orthopedic specialist, we learned that Daisy could benefit from surgery to correct her previous foreleg injuries. She has undergone two surgeries and is now up and running again! Daisy is a gentle and loving soul. She adores playing with other pups. Daisy is quickly learning that the overwhelming majority of people are full of love and compassion, not neglect and apathy. Daisy is crate trained and housebroken. She loves long walks and snuggling on the couch with her people. A more devoted and loving companion than Daisy would be difficult to find. Daisy deserves to find a loving and stable forever home now that she has recovered from her surgeries. The first 10 months of her life were filled with loneliness, neglect and heartache.
